Holiday, FL.: Star Wishes for Children recently partnered with World Wresting Entertainment Inc. (WWE) to grant a once in a lifetime experience for a Michigan boy with a life threatening diagnosis of cerebral palsy.
Wish Kid Keion Ackles and his family were invited to Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, MI. for WWE Smackdown Live, where the teen was able to meet and spend some personal time pre-event with his favorite wrestler and WWE superstar, Dean Ambrose. Keion spent one-on-one personal time with professional wrestler and actor Ambrose taking several once-in-a-lifetime photos with the star.
“It was so much fun hanging out with Keion,” said Dean Ambrose. “I admire what Star Wishes for Children does – inspiring hope in these kids. I feel fortunate to be a part of it all.”
“It means so much for our Wish Kids and their families to get ‘a break’ from their illness when we are able to grant them such a wish,” said Anna Lanzatella, executive director for the children’s charity. “We are so pleased to work with organizations like the WWE who help to put smiles on the faces of these children facing unimaginable circumstances.”
During his wish, Keion and his family stayed at the Aloft Detroit at the David Whitney. In addition to attending the WWE Smackdown Live event and meeting WWE Superstar, Dean Ambrose, Keion was also treated to a day at the Michigan Science Center. The family was also provided dinners courtesy of Hard Rock Café Detroit, and Townhouse Detroit.
The WWE and Dean Ambrose join a long list of organizations that have supported Star Wishes for Children in making come true the heartfelt wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.
